Your Investment Just as providing a professional phone service for your Motel can be
costly, providing a Guest Broadband Service that will allow all of your
guests to connect is not a job that should be done "on the
cheap". But you don't want another major infrastructure cost that
does not generate additional revenue. |
Guest Intrusion The cost of replacing items stolen or damaged by guests is a major cost
to most Motels. So the last thing you want is to allow your guests to
access your business data, as there will inevitably be some who will have
the ability, as well as the antisocial tendencies, to bring down your
management systems. |
Staff Operation New developments in hospitality technology mean that your staff increasingly
need to be computer literate. But Guest Broadband services are similar
to those offered by an ISP. You certainly don't want to have to train
your staff to provide the range of technical and account management services
offered by ISPs! |

Maximising
your Return on Investment
A single "heavy downloader" guest can cost a Motel $900. Knowing this, many Motels charge around $25/night to cover this - and get less than 5% guest take-up. By contrast, charging around $5/night can see a 30% take-up, and much higher guest satisfaction. But how do you prevent a "heavy downloader" guest from costing you more in a night than you'll earn in a week? NetSense™ Guest Network Controllers uniquely track guest downloads. So you can charge $5/night for reasonable usage and get high take-up, but a "heavy downloader" will be charged on a true user-pays basis - just like their own ISP! Installing a NetSense™ Controller as the heart of your Guest Broadband System will maximise the return on your investment. Many of our installations easily pay for themselves in much less than 18 months. Back |

Protecting
your Business Data
The last thing you need is to make your key business data - your Property Management System, your emails, your computer files - available for guests to browse, delete or corrupt! Yet many Guest Network Controllers are simple routers which, whilst separating the guest and office networks, provide an open data path between the two! This leaves 2 choices: open your data to your guests (not a good idea), or pay for a separate Broadband service for Guests only. By contrast, NetSense™ Guest Network Controllers are designed to share a broadband connection - thereby saving you money - whilst providing a secure, customised firewall that prevents guests even being aware that the office network exists - thereby securing your data. Operating
your Guest Broadband System
NetSense™ Guest Network Controllers provide two levels of reception access. At its simplest, an automatic interface between the NetSense™ Controller and the Property Management System enables the guest account at check-in, posts charges during the guest stay, and disables the account at guest check-out. Plan management is handled by a simple, easy-to-use and secure web interface. For properties not using a Property Management System, the web interface can be used to manage the system manually. For guests, Ironstone's MATS™ technology provides a network environment that mimics their own home or work environment, largely eliminating connection problems. Back
